**For young people making a life in Segovia, October brings another route into the city beyond university or work.** Casa Joven has announced fourteen activities and around 230 places across its programme for adolescents and young adults.

The two main age groups are 12–17 and 18–35\. That distinction is worth checking before booking: not every activity is open to every participant.

## What to look at this week

Reading clubs meet on Friday, 9 October: 17:30–19:00 for adolescents and 19:00–20:30 for young adults. An upcycling workshop is also scheduled that Friday, 18:00–20:00, using discarded materials to develop creative costumes.

For the 18–35 programme, Thursday sessions of Samba Oriental run from 19:30 to 20:30 during October. Later in the month, the offer includes creative workshops and a walk in the Hayedo de La Pedrosa.

Registration is required. Consult Segovia Joven for eligibility, availability and the details of individual sessions; the total number of places does not mean that every activity still has space.

## Why it matters

**Our assessment:** integration often begins with something ordinary — a shared book, a game or learning a new skill. These activities provide a way to spend time with local residents rather than remaining inside a familiar international circle.

Do not assume English-language delivery. Ask the organisers about language and participation requirements, especially if your Spanish is still developing.
