An IE student plans an 86.5-kilometre run between campuses
IE student Maxence Raymond Coum is preparing an 86.5-kilometre run from IE Tower in Madrid to the Santa Cruz la Real campus in Segovia on 16 November, El Adelantado reports. The proposed route crosses the mountains via Navacerrada, turning the connection between the two campuses into a fundraising challenge.
Coum, a third-year business student and men’s volleyball captain, aims to raise US$10,000 for A Leg To Stand On, which supports children with prosthetics, orthotics and mobility equipment. The report describes involvement from student groups including the Charity Club, Student Government and Social Volleyball.
The planned journey involves around 1,400 metres of climbing and a high point of approximately 1,858 metres. Those figures describe a proposed endurance challenge, not an organised public race or an invitation for unprepared runners to join. Weather and the runner’s condition may affect the final arrangements.
For students interested in following the effort, use the organiser’s confirmed updates to establish the route, timing and fundraising destination. The published fundraising target is a goal, not a total already raised.
