Segovia’s contemporary music season announces twenty premieres
The thirty-fourth Jornadas de Música Contemporánea de Segovia will run from 6 November 2026 to 8 May 2027. The Fundación Don Juan de Borbón and Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical have announced seven concerts and twenty world premieres, including nine commissions.
The opening programme brings together the Orquesta Sinfónica de Segovia and Quiquemago at IES Andrés Laguna on 6 November. A school session is scheduled for 12:00 and a public performance for 18:00, combining music with theremin and magic.
On 7 November, Ángel Montero’s Cathedral organ programme includes new preludes by Eduardo Lorenzo. Trío Arbós and guest players follow on 28 November, while later concerts extend the series into spring.
The announcement gives residents an opportunity to plan beyond a single weekend. Contemporary music can be unfamiliar territory, but the variety of instruments and settings offers different entry points. Read the individual concert information before booking: a school session and a public performance are separate arrangements, even when they share a date.
Ticket availability, admission conditions and access details should be checked in the organiser’s current listings.
